After being away for a few weeks, the Wednesday Want is back! And to celebrate, this week’s pick is one of my favorite accessories of all time: the Scarf. The Karakoram Stripe Cotton Scarf is an oversized square scarf that folds over to be the perfect triangle once wrapped around. I love the contrast of bold stripes with the warm neutral.

I was in New York briefly about 3 weeks ago. With all the craziness that followed once I was back home, I didn’t get a chance to do a recap of my trip. I had an amazing time, but I didn’t come back to LA feeling like I want to move to NY. But if there’s one thing I miss, it’s all the buildings.
On Friday, I finally graduated from college which means I’m back from my blogging hiatus.
After a very exhausting week, I got to finally enjoy a project-free weekend. So after breaking down my grad show, I headed over to Patchwork: Santa Ana where I finally got a chance to meet the lovely Shannon Kennedy of Sass & Peril. She screenprints super cute animals by hand on a range of products from tote bags to baby onesies. Today I picked up her tiger tote and the fox tea towel in peach.
I’ve been on a huge jewelry kick lately. When I was younger, I wore a lot of jewelry. But in high school, I took a few years of ceramic wheel-throwing which got me into a habit of not wearing any jewelry at all. Now I’m in love jewelry again (more than ever), and I’m constantly adding new pieces to my collection. This week’s pick of the Black Agate Web necklace by Eliza Spell is the perfect mix of goth and simplicity. I could wear this with any outfit whether it be something casual or something more dressy. Not-to-mention, it is the perfect answer to my current obsession with crystals.

Yesterday, we lost MCA of the Beastie Boys. Growing up I wasn’t allowed to listen to Rap. As I got older, my taste in music became much more eclectic. But I never really got into Hip Hop or Rap…that is except for the Beastie Boys. There was just something about their sound that had just the right about of rock in it for me to love it. It makes me sad that we’ve lost another great person to cancer. He was only 47 years old; the same age as my brother.
This week’s pick is a tribute to my internet gal pal Debbie Carlos. We go way back to my livejournal days (circa 2004/2005-ish). We’ve recently reconnected via Instagram and we’re convinced that our cats are twin souls. She’s a very talented photographer, but she also has her own jewelry line called AHC. Below is my absolute favorite piece of her collection: the Comet necklace. The color and depth of the amber bead is so captivating.
